I’m still amazed at the number of people in MLM with a website and no autoresponder. The bigger problem is that they give all the information about their business without getting a prospects name and email address. You can read more on that subject here.

We’ll assume that you have created an effective “squeeze page” and captured the information about your prospect, now it’s time to make your autoresponder effective. Always use your prospects name in your email and although you won’t do it every time, use your prospects name in the subject line in your email at least 50% of the time.

It’s amazing how many times we receive an email response to an autoresponder message as though we had written that email just for the person that replied. When a prospect receives an email from you and thinks that you took the time to send it to them personally it means a great deal to them and you are building a relationship with them.

Building a relationship with your prospects moves them from a total stranger to more of a friend, and anytime you can build that relationship you have a better chance and seeing them become a productive member of your team.

If you don’t have a squeeze page, get one! If you aren’t capturing email addresses and at the very least the first name of your prospect start today. Then develop an autoresponder campaign immediately. The autoresponder of choice for most internet marketing pro’s is right here.

Get an account and start using it immediately, the money you spend on an autoresponder is chicken feed compared to the revenue you will generate in your business.

Don’t you wish you knew everything there was to know about marketing your MLM business before you made all kinds of silly and expensive mistakes? Welcome to my world.

Multi level marketers are, for the most part, really late coming to the internet marketing party. Funny thing is a lot of MLMers think they’ve been doing internet marketing for years but that’s another story altogether.

Just today I was looking at what multi level marketers are doing in the internet and came across a website and it’s so obvious they don’t know what they are doing. Marketing your business on the internet is better than not marketing your business but they are some things you just don’t do.

We’ll get to the rest of the mistakes in a minute but let’s talk about domain names first.

Domain name tip #1
It’s .com or bust! .info no no no. Always register a .com whenever possible and even though some of the best domain names are already taken you’d be amazed at the great names that are still available. People just don’t take .biz, .org or .info domain names as seriously as a .com, and they probably never will.

Domain name tip #2
Be creative and don’t include your MLM company name in the domain. Your domain name is going to be, in most cases, the very first thing people see when they hear about your business. Never use something that people will look at and go, huh? We’re helping a lot of people come up with domain names and you’d be shocked at some of the names that people buy.

The absolute best domain names cause people to stop and think, hmmm I wonder what that’s all about? Chances are the first time you heard www.formermlmloser.com it probably caught your eye. You probably wondered what in the world this was all about didn’t you? That’s what your looking for, you know the old saying, curiosity killed the cat, by the way no cats were harmed in the writing of this blog!

Here are some examples of names that we like and we didn’t even check to see if they are already taken so if you go there don’t blame us for what you see.

Domain name tip #2
If you come up with something good, don’t waste time, buy the domain name now! A couple of weeks ago I came up with a great domain name and just my luck it was available. It was getting late, no big deal, we can register it tomorrow. Sure enough about 18 hours later it was too late, somebody else got it first! When you come up with something good, buy it immediately. It only costs $5.99 at 1and1.com.

Domain name tip #3
Register your domain name with a private registration. It’s a long and complicated story but it pays to have a private registration. Most companies will charge you more money to have a private domain name registration but 1and1.com gives it to you at no additional charge.

When it comes to search engine optimization you are better off if it’s private. That’s a whole different post for another day but let’s just say that it will be better for you in the long run to make your domain registration private.

A word of warning, you may not like what you read here, but it’s the truth, and nothing but the truth.

Most MLM companies, wait a second, pretty much all MLM company websites are awful. I said it and it feels good too. Because it’s the truth.

One of the reasons we feel compelled to teach multi level marketers how to market their business on the internet is that there is such a tremendous opportunity on the internet. So why is it that so many people in MLM know almost nothing about internet marketing?

I recently spoke to a company that provides 3rd party websites for many network marketing companies and asked them about their approach. Why aren’t they doing some of the things that internet marketers have been doing for years? Their answer was simple, they talk to the people that run MLM companies every month and offer to create websites using proven principles for internet marketing success and not one of these companies has taken them up on the offer!

Sure they produce great websites, and they are better than what MLM companies produce but they aren’t as good as they could be. We’re in a marketing business so why aren’t we the best marketers on the planet?

Here’s the truth about network marketing on the internet, your company website may have a lot of information but chances are that successful internet marketers would laugh at it! Seriously!

You need a squeeze page. Before people find out anything about your business you need to find a way to get them to give you their email address and at the very least their first name. The money is in the list, yet most network marketers have never been told that, even though internet marketers have been doing it for years.

If a prospect can go to your website and get information about your business without first having to give up their name and email address you will never build a list. Since very few people will decide to join your business the first time they are exposed to it you are missing out on a fortune.

Developing a squeeze page is crucial to your success if you want to market your MLM business on the internet, and why on earth would you want to miss out on literally thousands of people that are searching for a better life every day?
